Privacy
This site asks for an email address in two places and nothing anywhere else. Here is what happens to it.

Who runs this site
Plan Ahead is published by Spire Consulting Services, a consulting practice based in Portland, Oregon, and led by Jennifer Dymond, CPA. Spire decides what is collected here and why, and is the only party that reads it.
To ask anything about this policy, to request a copy of what is held about you, or to have it deleted, use the form on the Ask-a-CPA page or the contact form at spirecs.com. Requests are handled by a person, not a ticketing system.
This site sets no cookies
No cookies, no local storage, no session storage, no fingerprinting, no advertising or remarketing pixels, and no social media trackers. Nothing on these pages follows you to another site, and nothing here needs a consent banner, because there is no non-essential storage to consent to.
Fonts are served from this domain rather than a font network, so loading a page does not announce your visit to a third party.
What you choose to send
Every piece of personal information here is typed by you into one of two forms. Nothing is bought, imported, or inferred.
The waitlist form on the home page
It asks for an email address. That address goes to Kit, the mailing list service that runs the waitlist, and you receive a confirmation email. Until you click the link in it you are not subscribed, and if you ignore it nothing further happens.
The form on the Ask-a-CPA page
It asks for your first name, last name, email address, your biggest continuity concern, and which of the listed options you are interested in. That goes to Formspree, which delivers it to Spire as an email and keeps a copy in its dashboard so nothing is lost in an inbox.
If you ticked the Quickstart waitlist on that form, your first name, email address, and stated concern are also sent to Kit, and the same confirmation step applies. Ticking that box is the only thing on this site that subscribes you to anything.
The Quick Check is not a form
The ten statements on the Ask-a-CPA page are scored by a short script inside your browser. Your answers are never transmitted, never stored, and are gone when you close the tab. The only thing scoring does is preselect the concern dropdown on the form further up the page, which you can change.
What it is used for
Replying to you, sending the starter kit when it is ready, and telling waitlist subscribers when a cohort opens. That is the complete list.
Your information is never sold, never rented, never traded, and never used to target advertising, here or anywhere else. There is no profiling and no automated decision-making.
Analytics
Visits are counted with umami, which is privacy-focused and cookieless. It records page views, the country a request came from, the kind of device and browser, and named clicks such as which button or option was used. These are aggregate counts: they are not tied to a name, an email address, or an account, and they cannot be used to pick one person out.
Analytics is the one thing here that happens without you doing anything. If you would rather not be counted at all, any content blocker or a browser set to Do Not Track will stop the script loading, and the site works identically without it.
The services involved
Three companies process data on Spire's behalf. None of them are permitted to use it for their own purposes.
- Kit stores waitlist subscribers and sends the confirmation and cohort emails.
- Formspree delivers form submissions and holds a short-term copy of them.
- Umami provides the visit counting described above.
These pages are served by a commercial web host, which keeps the ordinary request logs any host keeps, including IP addresses, for security and reliability. Spire does not use those logs for analytics and does not combine them with anything you send through a form.
How long it is kept
Form submissions stay in Formspree's dashboard for 30 days and are then dropped automatically. The copy emailed to Spire stays in that inbox until it is deleted, which happens on request.
Waitlist subscriptions are kept in Kit until you unsubscribe or ask to be removed. An address that never confirms is discarded by Kit rather than held.
Your choices
- Every email sent through Kit carries an unsubscribe link. One click, no questions, no retention of the address afterwards on request.
- You can ask for a copy of everything held about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be erased. Use either contact route above.
- You can refuse all of it by simply not filling in a form. Nothing on this site is gated behind an email address: the Quick Check, the framework, and every price are readable without giving anything up.
Links that leave this site
Some links here go to the Ask-a-CPA community, to spirecs.com, to Outspoken Improv, and to LinkedIn. Those are separate sites with their own policies and their own cookies. This policy covers only what happens on plan-ahead.spirecs.com.
Children
This site is written for people who run businesses and is not directed at children. No information is knowingly collected from anyone under 16.
Changes
If what is collected here changes, this page changes with it and the date at the top moves. There is no mailing list for policy updates, so the date is the honest way to tell.
